New York-based roots and Americana musician, songwriter, and recording artist Phil Gammage presents a new single “The Woman in the Window” from his upcoming album Redeemed.

“The Woman in the Window” is a song about unresolved longing, secrecy, fantasy, and shame in the big bad anonymous city. The protagonist is searching for something emotionally but can never find it and is not even sure what it is he’s looking for, or why he’s searching. He is driven by a strong emotional force.
The song is a snapshot of the human condition. It’s a day in the life scenario describing someone in a troubled situation on many levels.”

About the cover… the photograph is of an unknown woman taken by an unknown photographer sometime in the 1940s. Phil chose it for the cover because he found her image captures the nameless longing that the song is about.

stopping for a moment to put on her perfume
